Options

There are tons of new posts and pictures today so scroll down until you reach a post you've already read!!

So, Brent has prepared, studied, sweated, traveled, and interviewed. And all that he has to show for that? Four acceptance letters to the four schools he interviewed with! I knew he was an amazing candidate, but he was a bit nervous. I'm so glad that he was accepted to a school and completely overwhelmed that he was accepted to four! Now we have options, but that means we have a major decision to make. We think we know, but we're not officially sure just yet. So for now I'll just tell the the four possibilities:
  • Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Erie, PA
  • West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, WV
  • Lincoln Memorial University DeBuske College of Osteopathic Medicine, TN
  • A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kirksville, MO
These are listed in the order of his interviews, so as not to indicate in which direction we are leaning. Once we know, we'll let you know! Any advice?

There are a number of people from Utah at LECOM in Erie. Talk to a few of the families. Erie will be your first choice.

I know nothing about any of the schools, but all I can say is that the east coast rocks!

I vote for whichever one is closest to me.

Shouldn't that count for 10 votes?

I have traveled to most of this great country. I even lived in West Virginia. But Tennessee would be my choice. It is so beautiful, and it it still close to everything. Including Ann.

Here's my advice, for what it's worth:

None of these are Harvard, which means that most people won't differentiate between them. i.e., no one is going to say 'you went to Erie when you had the chance to go to West Virginia?' Furthermore, since Brent applied to all of them, it stands to reason that he'd be happy with any one. So why not pick the place you would like the best and go there?

Are you really surpised that my advice boils down to geography? ;)
