Cute Picture Round Up

Went through my phone tonight and found these gems. Enjoy the adorableness of our three. Biased? Me? Nah!

I almost forgot! Brent and I have new callings. He's a ward missionary and I'm the Bear den leader. Go Scouts! Sammi is still adjusting to first grade. She loves riding the bus but doesn't like the cafeteria food. So I guess I'll be packing lunches. Elli also did not like lunch when she went to preschool last week. Make that two lunches I'll be packing! Sammi had her first test on Friday and has another one tomorrow. It's mostly review stuff right now. I hope they move quickly before she gets bored with the novelty of the classroom, worksheets, and what not. Surprisingly she doesn't like art very much but I'm hoping once they get the class rules down and the teacher trusts them more they'll be able to do more of the things she likes. Elli doesn't get up early so I'm afraid how this week will go as she has to get up at 7 every morning for preschool. Though she is excited to go. Usually. Especially once I promised to make her lunch :) Scott did very well his first day without sisters. He played with a train for over two hours! Such dedication. He loves books and scissors. Fortunately the two interests have not collided yet! Knock on wood. Now I'm rambling. Good night.

Pre-Spring Break

We got to go to Colorado again this year for Brent's convocation for OMT. I look forward to this trip to see my dad, Kim, brothers and nephew and niece. Not to mention my fave friends from my high school days. We had so much fun! Here are some pictures to show just how great the trip was.
All the cousins.
It was such a fun dinner seeing them all interact together.

I love sleeping pictures! This is Elli when we arrived at Julie's house.

I went to bed with this beautiful sight.
I had to turn on the light just to get the picture. So glad they didn't wake up!
It's always so hard to get a good family picture. This one epitomizes the trial of parents to get everyone looking at the camera with a pretty smile.
Sammi's first kite-flying experience. She loved it! I love that I got to share it with her. Thanks Julie for having awesome kites and thanks to the Colorado plains for all the wind.

Isn't he the cutest? I needed a place to set him down while I took off my jacket and shoes. It struck me as so comical that I just had to take the picture. They were kind enough to stop the conveyor belt and let me get a good picture.

We had a fun but very exhausting trip. I didn't realize how adjusted we are to the humidity of Tennessee nor how much drier the climate in Colorado is. Poor Scott was stuffy the whole week. But from the moment we left the airport in Louisville, he has been clear and gunk-free. It's good to be "home!"

Two Months, Too Fast

Scott joined our family two months ago. It seems like he's been a part of our family forever and also that those two months have gone by way too fast. He no longer looks like a newborn. His little cheeks are filling out. His cry is changing to a "waaaa" or "maaaa" when he's hungry or his diaper is wet. He sleeps about eight hours at night waking only once sometime between 2 and 4 and then sleeping till 7. He's been a little colicky, but I still feel really blessed to have such an agreeable baby (again!)

We've had a lot of fun moments over the last two months.
The girls loved this dinosaur outfit. Elli commandeered the short-sleeved shirt that came with the set.
Brent and the girls built snowmen. Sammi took this photo.

We took Uncle Will and Aunt Sara to the Pinnacle to show off the beautiful area where we live. There are remnants from the Civil War spread around Cumberland Gap National Park. The walk up to this canon is one of my favorites.
I love this boy's smile. He is always ready to brighten my day with this happy face.
I woke up to this beautiful sight this morning. We spent the night in Johnson City at my friend's parents' house. The three of us snuggled in bed after Scott woke up about 6:30 and were able to sleep until 8. I love that they are sleeping in exactly the same position.

More Sleeping Shots

She's just so cute when she falls asleep! The no napping thing is working well, although she crashes every few days or so. She is sleeping so much better at night and there's not more fighting over getting her to go to bed. She actually looks forward to her routine and climbing into bed!

Napping Children

Oh the beautiful sound of silence. Both of my girls are napping and I'm enjoying catching up on some much needed blogging! There are two more posts from today (including #100!) so scroll down and check them out! I love sleeping pictures and these take the cake! Mmmm, cake. I think I'll head to the kitchen next...

Sunday Dilemmas

Sundays are hard days for napping for Sammi. We have church right during her nap time and she is often fairly miserable. We usually miss either sacrament meeting if we can get her to fall asleep or Brent brings her home after sacrament meeting and she naps during nursery.

Two Sundays ago Sammi was doing pretty good and she spent all morning talking about going to nursery. She was very excited about playing with the blocks. So we trucked off to sacrament meeting. That was fairly difficult because she kept dragging Brent to the nursery room to play with the blocks. We figured we'd let her go and see Brent would check on her to make sure she wasn't too miserable. They said she did great and played nicely. I thought that was a miracle considering how tired she was. So we came home from church and gave her a snack while we we getting dinner ready. Brent and I were both running around the kitchen getting things ready so we didn't even see it coming! Brent looked over at her and she was out cold. to her credit, she did finish her yogurt first! I guess she's not quite ready to give up naps just yet.

Sammi Sleeping

This is how I found Sammi during a nap the other day. She loves her new baby doll, but can't quite give up her tiger pillow. (It's tucked there between her knees and feet.)

In fact, she quite likes that tiger pillow. We have a wooden puzzle with animal shapes. The other day we were playing with it. I would pick up a piece and Sammi would tell me which animal it was and then she'd put it in the puzzle (in the right spot, of course!) When I picked up the tiger I knew she knew it because of her pillow. But she didn't say tiger. So I asked again and she said something I didn't quite understand. I asked her if it was a tiger and she said, "Pillow, Mommy." I was so impressed that she knew it was the same animal as her pillow! I wasn't ready for that answer and so I didn't understand her the first two times. But I was so pleased that she stuck with her answer. She knew what she was talking about and was very patient while I caught up to her!

Laundry Day!

I love washing clothes. Sammi gets such a kick out of playing with them while I fold them. On this laundry day, she was taking the towels and placing them like blankets on her Aloha Bear. (Even though it's a Christmas book, she still begs me to read it to her!)

After the Aloha Bear was thoroughly covered with blankets, she laid down using him as a pillow and asked me to cover her with a towel. (Yes, she asked for a towel, not a blanket!) Then she rubbed her eyes and said, "Tired, Mommy, sleeping."
